In the Beginning...
Housedividedflags.com started for one reason. My husband and I needed a flag! As you can see in the picture (don't let the fact that we are both wearing red fool you...), he is Texas Tech's #1 fan, and I am a Husker.
We needed a way to "Divide Our Pride" when it came to displaying a flag. Thanks to getting our flag now we both win on gameday--unless you count that Texas Tech vs. Nebraska 2004 game in Lubbock. Ouch!
Melissa, originally from Nebraska, now living in Austin shared her story...
I married my husband, a Longhorn from UT, last year and we love our respective teams! Thanks for this great website so we don't have to fight over which flag gets to go up on Saturdays!
Eugenia from Georgia looks forward to her football-focused family get togethers...
I am Georgia and my husband is Auburn. In our family we also have the same divided house combo several times. We always host the Auburn/Georgia game I can not wait to hang this hopefully for this years game! We have always wanted a divided flag. My husband found you today, we plan on passing the link around.
Meghan G., from Austin, is a Big 12 Divided House all-the-way!
I married a Longhorn, what can I say? I am a huge Texas Tech fan. This flag is perfect for our split family!!
Jeneane, from Iowa City, Has a Seriously Divided House!
My husband is a lifelong Michigan fan and has our son rootin' for the Wolverines. I am a born and raise Hawkeye fan and my 8 year old daughter roots every Saturday for the Hawkeyes. Finally, there is a flag that we can all be happy with.
Alabama Fan + Florida Fan = Classic SEC Rivalry in Birmingham!
My fiance is a die-hard Gator fan, and I'm a die-hard Alabama fan. When the Gators and Bama are playing each other, our relationship is a little crazy during the entire season. I will find anything and everything bad about the Gators to rev him up, and he'll do the same to me! But when they aren't scheduled to play each other (like this season), ohh everything is just peachy! I'll go ahead and say it..."I'm a Gator Fan for my Gator Man!!!" But ROLL TIDE ROLL
Are there two UTs? Yes there are in Chip's House!
I am born and bred Univ of TN fan. I married a Texan (the other UT). We somehow got married without killing each other and gave birth to our first son. I shoved UTn and she shoved UTx on him. For some Godly unknown reason, he chose...University of Florida UUUGGGG. He says the "f" word in my house. We gave birth to another son and he is too young to pick, but rest assured, he will pick a UT.
Black Sheep of Family Wears Black and Gold for Purdue!
I come from a well loved IU home, where Purdue is disliked. My brother went to IU, so my parents fell in love with it. My husband also graduated from IU. So, here I am, the black sheep of the family, and I am now attending Purdue! It's actually pretty funny, but the family has come to support Purdue as well! So the parents received a house divided flag for Christmas!
Tarheels Fans and Vols Fans Can Live Together in Peace
I am a die hard Lady Tarheels fan and my best friend/roommate is a die hard Lady Vols fan. Even though we are in two different conferences, our teams play each other in pre-season and the NCAA tourney each year. You are the first company we've found to make a flag with teams from different conferences. We love it and are flying it proudly during this year's tournament.
High School Sweethearts Vow To Love Huskers & Jayhawks Equally...
Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska Jenney B. left to attend the University of Kansas and then stayed in the Kansas City area. Her husband (high school sweatheart) attended Nebraska and moved down to Kansas following our wedding. We love the Huskers and the Jayhawks and we're so excited to get our flag and display our pride for both schools!
Husker Fan in KC Compromises To Keep Family Peace...
I moved to Kansas City in 2001 as a single diehard husker. I eventually met my wife and had to deal with the fact that her and her entire family are jayhawks. What does "rock chalk jayhawk" really mean anyway? The first year was tough but I was eventually woed into being a KU basketball fan while still retaining my love for NU football. We are most definately divided yet during march madness we are very much united.
Indiana & Purdue Pride Shows in...North Carolina?
My wife and I both grew up as Indiana fans. We both graduated from IUPUI (IU-Purdue regional campus in Indianapolis). Our son attended IU-Bloomington, and our daughter now attends Purdue-West Lafayette. We now live in Raleigh, NC and proudly display our IU/Purdue House Divided flag, in the middle of NCState/UNC/Duke country!
Barb & Her Husband Are Hoping For The Best...
My husband went to Illinois and I went to Iowa. Now, our twin sons are in college -one at Illinois and one at Iowa. We each feel we raised one right. We still have a daughter in high school -will she be the tie breaker or torture us with a decision to go to (GASP) Michigan or some other godforsaken place?
From The Bayou To The Plains...
I am a southern belle -- and LSU alumnus -- who met and married a Husker 18 years ago, and moved from the bayou to the plains of Nebraska. Our house isn't so much divided as it shares a love of two teams! Yes, I am a lifelong LSU fan, and I love the Huskers too! Both of our children will attend NU (much to the chagrin of my family in Louisiana!). I'm ordering a divided flag so that, on game day, we can show our love and pride for BOTH of our teams. Geaux, Tigers! Go Big Red!
